Arun has joined as a Postdoctoral research fellow in Nanostructured Hybrid Energy Materials group of Dr. Ana Jorge Sobrido in Nov. 2018. He received his B.S, M.S and M. Phil degrees from Bharathiar University, India. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry with specialization in electrochemistry from National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan in June 2011 under the guidance of Prof. Shen-Ming Chen. He was awarded Taiwan Government Scholarship for pursuing his Ph.D. degree. He worked as a Postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Huan-Tsung Chang’s Bio and Nano Analytical group at National Taiwan University from Nov. 2011 to 2018. He has been awarded Young Scientist Medal in Advanced Materials World Congress 2018, Singapore. His research focuses on preparation of functional carbon nanocomposites and photoluminescent carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanodots and graphene quantum dots) for biosensing, photocatalysis, oxygen electrocatalysis and hydrogen evolution reaction. His recent interest includes study of facet dependent activity of semiconductor micro/nanoparticles toward selective electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide to form value added single C1 products like methanol. He is currently working on the preparation of bifunctional hybrid electrocatalysts using perovskites for oxygen electrocatalysis.
