Hattie Chisnall

Hattie’s scientific interests lie mainly in the development of sustainable methods for the chemical reduction of atmospheric pollutants. She completed her MChem in Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh in 2019. After spending time in a private research company developing a novel carbon capture method, and then working in an analytical chemistry lab, Hattie joined our group in January 2022. Her research project focuses on the development of catalysts for the electrochemical reduction of CO2. Conversion of COinto high-value fuels and chemicals through electrocatalysis offers a compelling and engaging solution to rising levels of atmospheric CO2, but one whose challenges of scalability and economic viability require further innovative research to overcome.
